BAKERSFIELD – Jeffrey Firkins was arrested in March for drugging and raping a 16-year-old girl. He was then released while awaiting the results of a DNA test pertaining to the incident.
On Wednesday April 4th he was rearrested after his father called the police to alert them that his son was planning on fleeing the state and go to either Texas or the east coast.
Firkins had previously asked a detective to see if he was restricted from traveling out of the county.
In the March incident, Firkins allegedly gave the girl alcohol and marijuana and then raped her. She alleges that because of her fear, she pretended to be asleep during the incident.
The suspect’s bail is $720,000.
