LAKE ELSINORE – A disturbance call brought Lake Elsinore Police Department deputies to Cedarhill Lane and Rosewood Court on the afternoon of Saturday April 13th. Upon their arrival, they found Donald Brandt (33) of Lake Elsinore in his vehicle with a loaded and concealed gun.
The incident originally began around 3:45 PM when a group of local teens were enjoying a football game in the street. Things turned ugly when Brandt confronted the group of teenage juveniles regarding their choice of location.
Brandt’s neighborly skills went awry when he attempted an assault. As he was hit with a punch, he threatened to return to the scene with a handgun.
The teens scattered, fleeing to nearby residences, and the armed suspect positioned himself in his vehicle.
Lake Elsinore PD Deputies arrived to find Brandt in his vehicle and ready for action. Contact resulted in an arrest for making Criminal Threats, Child Endangerment, and Possession of a Concealed Handgun.
“None of the parties sustained serious injuries,” said Sergeant Steve Fredericks. “Brandt was booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center.”
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Deputy Darrin Miller of the Lake Elsinore Police Department at (951) 245-3300. Citizens may also submit a tip via the Sheriff’s CrimeTips online form.
