MONTEREY – In early April, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a sexual assault on a disabled female. Investigating officers learned that the suspect was someone the victim knew.
The suspect was later identified as 60-year-old Roberto Cabrel Salazar of Delhi. Investigators also learned that Salazar was a “previously deported felon and unregistered sex offender.”
On April 9th officers went to Delhi and surveilled Salazar’s residence. Investigators spotted the suspect in the residence, made contact and with him and then arrested him without further incident. Salazar was then booked into Monterey County Jail where he now faces numerous sexual offense charges.
His bail was set at $1 million.
