SAN BERNARDINO – An eight-year-old boy is now safely in the care of Child Protective Services. Yesterday, an investigation was started by the Central Station CFS Deputy, a Dedicated Deputy for Child Protective Services, who was referred by Children and Family Services.
The allegation of physical abuse to an anonymous 8-year-old male prompted rapid results. Evidence was collected and witnesses were contacted, which provided probable cause that Shaniqua Parker (25) of San Bernardino had abused her two sons who are 8 and 4 years old.
By 11:11 AM, the arrest was made in the 7200 Block of Conejo Drive, San Bernardino. Parker, currently on felony probation, was taken into custody for felony child abuse after punching her 8-year-old son in the face.
Parker’s two boys had previously been victimized by her boyfriend, Cameron Martin. Sadly, an investigation from a case taken in March revealed that Martin had choked and assaulted the 4-year-old boy.
Martin’s adjudicated case led to a conviction of child abuse. His girlfriend, Parker, was booked at Central Detention Center without bail for PC 273a(a) felony child abuse.
“Central Station has a dedicated Child and Adult Protective Services Deputy who investigates allegations of child and elder abuse,” said Deputy B. Ortiz. “We urge the public to call or text law enforcement when they see suspicious activity.”
