BARSTOW – Who did SBSD Barstow Station and CHP call when a suspected car thief abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot? Victorville PD’s K-9 Raider, of course!
The scent-tracking expert and his handler Deputy Higuera high-tailed it to the scene. Raider immediately acquired a scent and commenced tracking.
Approximately 400 yards from the I-15 Harvard Road off ramp, the bad guy’s aroma led the ready-and-able hound to the exact destination. Raider found him buried beneath a pile of debris.
Barstow Deputies cuffed and booked Daniel Allen (27) of Los Angeles at High Desert Detention Center.
Victorville PD gave kudos on Facebook: “K-9 Raider takes the win over the bad guy while assisting Barstow Sheriff Deputies and CHP.”
