Caustic Chemical-Assault Gang Member Suspect Apprehended and Arrested

LA QUINTA – The Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force set out on Wednesday 5/15/19 to locate the perpetrator of a violent gasoline dousing the day before. An anonymous victim was assaulted and doused by criminal street-gang member Mario Zamarripa (39) of La Quinta.
As Task Force officers arrived at a residence on the 51000 block of Avenida Martinez in La Quinta at 3:45 PM, the suspect fled on foot. His attempt to flee was immediately shut down.
“Zamarripa was arrested and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Assault with a Caustic Chemical, Domestic Violence, Child Endangerment, Vandalism and Resisting Arrest,” said Sergeant Paul Heredia. “He was booked at the Indio Jail.”
