MERCED – On Sunday May 12th shortly before 4:30 p.m., a man entered the Kohl’s store at the Merced Mall. The man proceeded to take a large amount of workout clothing clothing, and fled the store without paying for it.
The suspect then got into a gold colored truck and left with over $1,000 worth of merchandise.
A subsequent investigation revealed 36-year-old Adrian Cruz Mendoza as the thieving suspect. Eight days later at 10:30 p.m. a Merced Police Department officer located Mendoza driving get get away vehicle at W. 16th and R Streets in the city of Merced.
Mendoza was placed under arrested and booked into the Merced County Jail on grand theft charges.
