CALIFORNIA – Memorial Day weekend 2019 was the yearly weekend of remembrance all over the country, and all over California.
However, many individuals also celebrated the holiday by drinking and driving.
California law enforcement have reported that 1,853 DUI arrests occurred between Friday May 24th and Monday May 27th. 75 of these arrests were for felony DUI related offenses and 1,778 were misdemeanors DUI related offenses.
Regrettably, and in addition, at least 21 people lost their lives in 17 crashes across the state.
The “maximum enforcement period” began on Friday afternoon and ended on Monday at 11:59 p.m.
