HOLLISTER – Three men broke into a bar at 1:30 a.m. on May 17 and threatened those inside with a knife. The Agua Azul Bar is at 840 East Street.
Approaching officers saw the trio running away and quickly detained them.
25-year-old Alfredo Cervantes, 28-year-old Urbano Sernas Jr. and 24-year-old Pedro Lira-Padilla were all arrested.
Earlier, one of the three got into an argument and then “physically assaulted a patron at the bar.” They were forced out, and then the owner locked the bar in an effort to keep the three from re-entering.
Cervantes kicked open the door, knife in hand, and re-attacked the man with whom he had the earlier spat. His pals fought other patrons.
Cervantes was charged with burglary, battery, brandishing a knife, possessing brass knuckles and threatening an officer.
Lira-Padilla was charged with burglary and battery. Sernas was charged with battery and a local warrant.
