WEST SACRAMENTO – When a motorcycle did not stop for a red light, a West Sacramento Police Department officer was nearby to see it happen, and tried to initiate a traffic stop.
The motorcyclist was having none of it and instead made an attempt to escape, fleeing along the railroad tracks. It appeared he was on his way to downtown Sacramento.
An undercover SIU officer observed the fleeing motorcyclist park the bike in a parking structure and then attempt to walk away.
The suspect was taken into custody “with the assistance of Sacramento PD’s bike team.”
The motorcycle was reported stolen out of Oregon, and the unnamed thief was “arrested and booked on various charges including reckless driving, evading officers, driving without a license, and vehicle theft.”
