BARSTOW – When a concerned citizen took the initiative to notify the PD Dispatch of a suspicious individual, quick action ensued. An anonymous caller placed an early-morning call on June 6th, describing a “black male in his 50s with a bald head and protuding lower teeth.”
The caller alerted that the subject named “Warren,” staying at a residence on the 1100 block of Pueblo Drive – was wanted for murder out of Los Angeles.
Barstow PD Detectives immediately contacted LAPD’s Robbery/Homicide Division for confirmation regarding the reported suspect, and launched surveillance in the vicinity of Pueblo Drive.
Detectives observed a woman known as “Cheryl Fullilove” leave her residence. After she exited and walked towards East Main St., a man matching Warren’s description stepped out.
Detectives gave contact, and ID’d the man as Elijah William Warren III (50). A “wants and warrants check” affirmed that Warren was wanted for murder out of L.A. Warren was immediately arrested without incident.
Prompt contact with Fullilove on the 1000 of East Main St. resulted in an arrest for an outstanding misdemeanor traffic warrant. Warren and Fullilove were transported to the PD station for further investigation.
Moments later, LAPD Detectives confirmed Warren as the suspect in their murder investigation. That afternoon, LAPD South Bureau Homicide Division Detectives arrived in Barstow for further action.
BPD obtained a search warrant to be executed by both agencies at Fullilove’s residence. After the search, LAPD Detectives interviewed the two suspects regarding the March 19th murder of Jayron Craig Boston.
“Warren was booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Jail in Barstow for his PC 187(a) warrant and his PC 3455 Probation Violation warrant,” said Detective Thomas Lewis. “Due to medical issues, Fullilove was booked at the Barstow Police Department and released with a citation.”
