EL CENTRO – Officers with the El Centro Police Department were in the midst of an operation on June 12th when they attempted to “make contact with two subjects.”
One of the individuals ran away and was later taken into custody nearby at a residence in the 70 block of El Centro Street. At the arrest site, officers retrieved methamphetamine and a loaded 9 mm pistol.
Contact with the suspect who did not run led officers to another residence on the same block. At that residence, they arrested three other persons for outstanding warrants, as well as several more ounces of meth and counterfeit US currency.
Gerardo Acevedo, Edward Montenegro, Michael Thurlow were arrested, while Robert Zamora and Rudy Fabela were cited and released.
