Two search warrants net 4151 marijuana plants and 43 pounds of processed weed
MOUNTAIN RANCH – On June 25th a property off of Canyon Trail was the scene of a large marijuana bust.
Deputies with a search warrant arrived at the property and ended up eradicating 3,252 marijuana plants as well as 38 pounds of processed marijuana.
No arrests were made during this operation. The nest day, another unrelated warrant was served at a residence in the 3800 block of Tree Lane in West Point.
37-year-old Jianrong Huang was detained as he tried to flee from authorities.
The Tree Lane residence had been “entirely converted into a marijuana growing facility.” The Marijuana Enforcement Unit seized 899 marijuana plants, 5 pounds of processed marijuana and a handgun.
In addition, the site had a trash burial hole and an outhouse type of hole. The site was red-tagged by Calaveras Code Compliance because of its unsafe condition, as well as mold.
Huang was arrested and booked on charges of criminal conspiracy, marijuana for sale and illegal cultivation of marijuana.
