WILLOWS – At North Tehema and West Wood Streets on July 6th, deputies from the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office arrived to a report of a man who had attempted to abduct two girls.
The 14 and 15-year-old girls said that a man in a red car pulled up, speaking in a language foreign to them, and tried to get them into his vehicle.
The suspect then got out of his car, at which time one of the girls made a call on her cell phone. As the man sped off, the girl took pictures of the car driving away. She also got a picture of the license plate.
In less than an hour deputies located the vehicle parked behind Saint Monica’s Church. They also contacted 42-year-old Miguel Martinez Hernandez at 413 Pacific Street.At first he gave deputies a false name.
Hernandez had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Colusa County for annoying a child.
The suspect was arrested for providing false information to a peace officer.
