35-year old Travis Eugene Banghart is a familiar face to Shasta County Deputies. When deputies saw him on July 13th, towing a large flatbed gooseneck trailer with a Ford F-350 pickup in the unincorporated city of Cottonwood, CA, they thought it best to check if Banghart had any outstanding warrants. The result came back positive for two arrest warrants.
Deputies pulled Banghart over on High and Main Street and ran the license plate of the F-350 which confirmed the truck was stolen from Yreka. A search of the truck procured a loaded revolver. Banghart was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of a stolen car, illegal possession of a firearm, ammo, and a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
Banghart was booked into Shasta County Jail but has since been transferred to Glenn County Jail where he remains in custody as of July 22nd.
The flatbed trailer and property attached to the trailer have not been confirmed as stolen. Anyone with information about this case can contact Shasta County Sheriff’s Office at 530-245-6540.
