SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – On March 1st Major League Baseball player Cameron Maybin was pulled over for drunk driving at 2:25 in the morning.
It turns out his BAC level was at .127. That is a bad batting average, and well over the legal limit.
Maybin was arrested that night and was then cut by the San Francisco Giants not long after the arrest. His charges included DUI, speeding and unsafe lane change. A conviction could have led to up to a year behind bars.
However, Maybin cut a deal with prosecutors, pleading guilty to the DUI count and having the other charges dismissed. The punishment for his guilty plea has yet to be determined.
The New York Yankees picked up Maybin as a player, but he has been on the injured list with a left calf strain.
