The Rite Aid on Edith Avenue in Corning was robbed on July 22nd when two males jumped over the prescription counter and demanded pills.
After getting what they came for, they fled in a gray Ford Focus which later was determined to be stolen out of Sacramento. Sheriffs of the nearby counties were on high alert for the Ford Focus, as earlier in the day, a similar incident had occurred in Redding, 50 miles north of Corning.
The Ford Focus was spotted heading south toward Colusa County when a Glenn County Sheriff pulled it over. A search of the vehicle procured the stolen pills. 26-year old Omar Deavone Davis of Sacramento and two male juveniles were detained and transferred back to Corning.
The juveniles were booked at the Juvenile Justice Center while Davis was booked at the Tehama County Jail. All three were booked for robbery and possession of stolen property. Davis was additionally booked for child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, and violating his parole.
Davis remains in custody at the Tehama County Jail as of July 29th with his bail set at $250,000.
