The evening of July 23rd, witnesses stopped a van near North Cottage Street which appeared to have recently been involved in an accident given the extensive damage of the vehicle.
As witnesses waited for Porterville Police to arrive to take over the situation, they secured the keys from the suspected intoxicated driver, 22-year old Sabreena Peyron.
In the car with her was an adult passenger, 23-year old Lillian Bella, and five juveniles.
When police arrived, they confirmed Peyron was under the influence and arrested her. While walking her to the patrol car, Peyron became free for a few seconds and ran down the street. She was quickly apprehended and subsequently faces an additional charge for attempt to escape on top of her driving under the influence and child endangerment charges.
Bella was arrested for child endangerment, public intoxication, and obstructing or delaying a police officer.
Both were booked into the Tulare County Sheriff Department’s Adult Pre-trial Facility with bail set at $100,000 each.
