EMERYVILLE — Possession or control of child pornography is a surefire ticket to jail. A man found in possession of more than 1,000 images of child pornography was arrested following a raid on his Alameda County home.
The suspect was arrested on July 25, as a result of a tip received by Emeryville police detectives. This information originated from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The task force is a network of law enforcement agencies dedicated to protecting children. It works closely with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, an investigatory resource used by law enforcement agencies.
Data specialists identified an IP address that was being used to download child pornography. Further investigation revealed this was happening at a residence located on the 4300 block of Adeline Street.
Emeryville detectives executed a search warrant at this residence and recovered more evidence. Several electronic devices were seized during the police search.
An overwhelming amount of evidence was gathered. Specifically, this includes thousands of pornographic images of children found on scanning devices.
The resident living there, 28-year-old Ricardo Corona was arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office subsequently charged Corona on July 29. He is charged with possession or control of child pornography.
