MOUNTAIN RANCH – The Marijuana Enforcement Team of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on July 17th at a residence in the 300 block of De Moss Lane.

There, they discovered an illegal grow site and seized 1,074 marijuana plants, but no suspects were there at the time.

Then, the MET served another warrant at a residence in the 5000 block of Michel Road and discovered another illegal grow site.

At the second location deputies seized 120 marijuana plants and 9.66 pounds of processed marijuana.

56-year-old Nai Saechao was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail, on charges of illegal marijuana cultivation, maintaining a drug house and possession of marijuana for sale, with his bail set at $30,000.

The CCSO remarks that it serves “numerous search warrants monthly” and that, pursuant to the first search warrant, “the mere fact that no persons may not have been contacted or arrested at some of the locations does not imply that the case is complete. For weeks and/or months following a warrant, the investigation into each site continues. In some cases, charges are referred to the District Attorney at a later date pending the results of evidence testing, interviews, or follow up investigations.”
