ROHNERT PARK — Drivers impaired by alcohol or cannabis account for the most DUI alcohol/drug arrests in California. In Rohnert Park alone, police recently made three arrests in just two days for DUIs causing injuries.
On August 2nd, a DUI suspect was arrested following a crash on the Rohnert Expressway, near an off ramp from Highway 101.
The suspect ran away from the scene of the accident. The other driver involved sustained injuries requiring medical treatment.
Luis O. Gumercindo, 40 of Petaluma, was located behind a nearby building, where he was arrested. He was booked at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility. He was later released on $30,000 bond.
Gumercindo faces two DUI alcohol/drug charges resulting in bodily injury. In addition, he was arrested for driving without a license and for hit-and-run resulting in injury.
On August 2, another hit-and-run accident also resulted in injuries. This collision happened near the parking lot entrance to the Food Maxx, located at 605 Rohnert Expressway.
The suspect identified as Casandra A. Harden, 26 of Rohnert Park, was followed by a witness, before she finally stopped. The other driver was found unconscious and taken to the hospital.
Harden was booked at the Sonoma County jail, where she remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bond. Harden faces two DUI alcohol/drug charges resulting in injury. She was also arrested for hit-and-run resulting in injury.
On August 3, yet another DUI-related collision occurred at the intersection of Southwest Boulevard and Almond Avenue.
Eddie A. Rogers, 43 of Novato, was arrested at the scene. Rogers was booked into county jail and he faces one DUI alcohol/drug charge. The other driver was transported to a hospital.
