ARCATA – After midnight on August 3rd, a white pickup pulling a trailer hit a fence and then fled from the area of the 1300 block of Q Street. A witness called it in to the Arcata Police Department, and before long officers spotted and stopped the truck.
The driver, 33-year old Blake Gregory Moreland, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle (the truck). In the truck-bed there was a motorcycle, which was also stolen.
In addition, the trailer was also stolen. Inside the vehicle officers found a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
Moreland’s passenger, 25-year-old Amber Lee Dominguez, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
The duo were taken to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, Moreland was booked for possession of a stolen vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm and felony committed while released on bail. Just weeks earlier, on July 2 he had already been arrested for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.
For her part, Dominguez was booked for possession of drug paraphernalia.
