Weed man busted for driving without license catches felony drug charges

SISKIYOU COUNTY — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a 53-year-old Weed man on suspicion of multiple misdemeanor and felony drug charges.
Just after 2 AM on August 6, a Sheriff’s Deputy stopped Thomas Christopher Lane for a light-related violation and discovered he was driving without a license.
The deputy then conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered: a plastic bag of methamphetamine, a digital scale, a plastic bag of cocaine, and another plastic bag containing suspected heroin, as well as 643 grams of processed marijuana.
Lane was placed under arrest on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, and transportation of a controlled substance, with additional charges relating to the marijuana. He was booked into the custody of the Siskiyou County Jail.
