ONTARIO – Ontario officers stopped a 2013 Dodge Charger for a vehicle code violation on August 13th at 11:30 AM. What happened next on the 3400 Block of E. Shelby St. spurred the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force into action.
The Ontario Police Department officer requested assistance when the driver and passenger were ID’d for active parole out of Sacramento for multiple violent felonies. Angelo Wells (27) of Sacramento, and Daunte Thurston (27) of Elk Grove had racked up prior activities including Car Jacking, Assault with a Firearm, Burglary and Robbery.
Two anonymous female victims ages 24 and 26, both residents of Sacramento, were sitting in the back seat. Several thousand dollars were found in the possession of one of the victims.
When the four subjects were suspected to be involved in prostitution, Officers discovered Wells and Thurston were staying at a nearby hotel. A search of their room revealed evidence consistent with prostitution.
Further investigation handed Investigators knowledge of both victims actively working as prostitutes on behalf of the men. Wells and Thurston were immediately placed under arrest.
The pimping duo was transported to Ontario Police Department for processing. They were booked at West Valley Detention Center for violation of Parole and felony violations of Pimping and Pandering.
Both have 8/26/19 court dates in Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court. Wells received $500,000 bail. No bail for Thurston, who is is being held pending a hearing on his parole violation.
