EUREKA – The calls that came in to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office on August 23 noted that a female appeared to be in distress on Cummings Road and possibly holding a firearm.
Arriving deputies came upon 43-year-old Anna Caudle, indeed in possession of a firearm, and a large amount of cash. The female had an injured hand and “did not follow the commands of the deputies regarding the firearm.”
A brief struggle, and the use of a Taser, deputies subdued Caudle. The injury to her right hand appeared to be a gunshot wound and she was taken for medical treatment.
Two hours after the first calls, another citizen called about blood inside a residence on Heaven Lane, near Cummings Road. At the residence there was a vehicle registered to Caudle, as well as 30 pounds of marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, and more cash inside the home.
After her medical treatment, Caudle was booked for brandishing a firearm, resisting, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana for sale and maintaining a drug house.
