PINOLE — Driving away from the scene of a robbery at night with no headlights was a dead giveaway. Two men and a juvenile were pulled over and arrested on multiple charges for robbing a pizzeria on August 26th.
An employee was punched and kicked by two masked men who pointed at gun in her face. The thieves emptied the cash register before fleeing into the night, but they didn’t get far.
Officers were dispatched to the Pizza Hut restaurant located at 1211 Tara Hills Drive. As a dispatcher was broadcasting details of the robbery, another officer spotted a suspicious vehicle speeding nearby with no headlights.
It was traveling westbound on Tara Hills Drive. The driver ran a stop sign, prompting an officer to maneuver behind the vehicle. Next, officers saw someone inside the vehicle tossed an object out a window. It later turned out to be a handgun.
After pulling over the vehicle, officers quickly determined the three occupants were involved in the Pizza Hut robbery. All three males were detained while officers recovered evidence, including the gun suspected of being used in the robbery.
Two of the three individuals were identified as the two suspects who attacked a woman working behind the counter. Additional evidence recovered from the vehicle also linked them to the crime.
All three San Francisco residents were arrested. The suspects were identified as 19-year-old Marvin Osegueda-Saravia, and Jorge Alvarado-Mata who is 18. The third suspect is a 17-year-old juvenile.
All three males were arrested for robbery, false imprisonment with violence, and carrying a concealed loaded firearm. Osegueda-Saravia and Alvarado-Mata were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. The third suspect was booked at Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall.
