ONTARIO -Twenty nine year old Corderic Johnson of Ft. Worth Texas, an alleged Interstate pimp, has the San Bernardino Human Trafficking Task Force looking for possible additional victims.
When a possible human trafficking victim in an online advertisement was located in the City of Ontario, Investigators launched an undercover operation which led to a motel room near the 1800 block of G Street.
In order to locate the victim, several hours of surveillance took place. The lone 19-year-old was contacted and ID’d.
Her pimp was nowhere in sight. Access to resources was provided to assist the victim and she was then released from the scene.
Sadly, the victim was found being advertised online in Ontario the very next morning. Investigators acted on evidence leading them to believe that the pimp had found her and re-victimized her. A second undercover operation ensued.
As the victim was located in another motel, this time in the 3400 Block of Shelby Street, Investigators found a vehicle similar to the one seen on surveillance from the day prior. A lone male exited the vehicle and drove off.
Uniformed PD Officers and Investigators initiated a traffic stop near the location. Johnson was questioned and detained, then found to be familiar with the victim.
Additional Task Force members joined in to safely assist the victim further. She was interviewed, and steered to a local support organization who arranged her return to Texas.
“During the interview with Johnson, investigators discovered information supporting his involvement in Pimping and Pandering of the victim,” said SBSD HTTF. Johnson “was taken into custody and booked at West Valley Detention Center for felony violations of Pimping and Pandering of an Adult, with a bail of $100,000.”
The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force is made up of investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, Ontario Police Department, Redlands Police Department, California State Parole, Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
