Three active gang members arrested after confrontation at The Hide-Away

PETALUMA – The Hide-Away bar was the scene on September 6th of a challenge to fight after two patrons who were asked to leave returned to challenge the staff and security guards.

29-year-old Jesus Arango Lopez and 32-year-old Ryan Matelli allegedly yelled “gang-related statements” at the employees of the bar.

Police with the Petaluma Police Department arrived, spotted the duo and found them uncooperative, In fact, as an officer started to handcuff Lopez, Matelli took off.

Officers caught up to Matelli in American Alley and cuffed him.

A third person, a female connected to the detained pair, also became argumentative and “tried to removed items form the pockets of Arango Lopez.” The female, 22-year-old Jacqueline Anguiano Oviedo, was summarily handcuffed as well. It turned out she had a knife in her pocket.

All three of the suspects were identified as having “association with criminal street gangs.” Lopez was on active misdemeanor probation and Martelli was on active felony probation.”

Arango Lopez and Martelli were charged with challenge to fight in a public place and participation in a criminal street gang. Martelli was also charged with resisting arrest.

For her part, Anguiano Oviedo was charged with resisting arrest and carrying a concealed dirk or dagger.
