CITRUS HEIGHTS – Recently Citrus Heights resident Justin Chapman “took the bait” near Sperry Drive and San Juan Avenue.
The bait taken by Chapman was placed by the Citrus Heights Police Department as part of an ongoing effort to curb theft in the area.
The CHPD reports that “Chapman is also on three dockets of probation for vehicle theft/possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and narcotics sales.”
Chapman has a list of numerous prior arrests that “include assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, grand theft, possession of burglary tools, fraud, attempting to evade a peace officer in a vehicle and false identification to a peace officer.”
The press release did not reveal the item that the CHPD used as bait.
