SANTA CRUZ – On the evening of September 22nd, an officer with the Santa Cruz Police Department “located Joaquin Romero, a suspect associated with a robbery.”
The stop of Romero, conducted in the Woodstocks parking lot, was deemed “high risk.” The 43-year-old transient was then detained.
On Romero’s person, officers discovered paraphernalia, cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine. All appeared to be for sale.
The suspect was therefore “arrested for probable cause in a robbery case and the added charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell.”
This arrest resulted when an alert citizen contacted the SCPD concerning suspicious activity.
