BLUE LAKE – On the afternoon of September 20 agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop.
The incident, in the 9000 block of Highway 299, was the result of a week-long investigation into 44-year-old Robert Hodge Jr. and his methamphetamine and heroin supply venture in Hoopa Valley.
When agents stopped the vehicle, they also apprehended 43-year-old Travis Ray White. Inside the car they discovered a pound of meth as well as 1 pounce and three 3 ounces of raw heroin.
Agents also discovered a loaded handgun equipped with a silencer and $8,000 in cash.
The pair were “arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for possession and transportation of controlled substances and weapons violations.”
The impetus for the investigation came from “numerous complaints from Hoopa residents about Hodge Jr and his widely-known narcotics trafficking.”
