ELK GROVE – On September 22nd officers with the Elk Grove Police Department encountered a man believed to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
In the area near W. Camden Drive and Elk Grove Florin Road, officers came upon 34-year-old Galt resident Christopher Garcia.
Garcia got out of a family member’s car in what appeared to be a state of agitation.
The suspect then resisted approaching officers, who eventually detained him.
In the scuffle two officers were injured and received treatment at a local hospital before being released.
Garcia, on parole and on probation, also received treatment at the hospital before he was booked into the Sacramento County Jail “on charges of resisting an executive officer, a parole and probation violation.”
