Ventura County – Look up “illegal pill manufacturer” in your Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, and you’re likely to find the mugshot of 35-year-old Porter Ranch resident Gerald Martin Madamba, who appears to be the poster boy for big-money drug dealing in northwestern Los Angeles County and southeastern Ventura County.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Det. Sgt. Eduardo Malagon, Madamba was “believed to be involved in the sales of methamphetamine and cocaine” for more than six weeks prior to his September 26th arrest. The VCSD Narcotics Unit, working in collaboration with the City of Moorpark Special Enforcement Detail, obtained a fistful of search warrants and paid a visit to Madamba’s residence and to two business addresses in the Chatsworth-Northridge area with which he had had recent contact.
The execution of those warrants began with “a traffic enforcement stop” on the afternoon of the 26th, whereupon Madamba was found “to be in possession of approximately $19,000 in cash and a small quantity of cocaine.” That was enough to earn Madamba a free ride to Ventura County Jail.
While enroute to jail, additional search warrants were served on Madamba’s residence and the aforementioned places of business. Evidence seized during those searches included “an elaborate illegal pill processing operation,” 1,187 grams of methamphetamine, 158 grams of MDMA, 36 grams of cocaine, more than 2500 illegally manufactured pills, a pill pressing machine, and “over $100,000 in cash.”
Madamba was booked into Ventura County Jail on multiple narcotics violations with his bail set at $750,000.
