REDDING – An officer with the Redding Police Department spotted what had been reported as a stolen vehicle, with several people inside, as it drove at the Shell gas station at 5001 Bechelli Lane on October 1 at 4:40 p.m.
As the officer approached, a male jumped out of the vehicle and ran away. The other two people got out and tried instead to just walk away.
Other officers came to attempt and apprehend the three who exited the vehicle. The driver, 28-year-old Kenosha Wildflower Wilson, was apprehended first.
Next, 34-year-old passenger Melissa Lynn Pitts was also captured.
Third, and last, 40-year-old Shane Dwayne Hursey was apprehended a half a mile away, with assistance from K9 Otto and other officers.
The RPD press release summarizes, “Wilson was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and driving on a suspended license. Pitts was booked on several outstanding warrants for her arrest. Hursey was booked for possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, and for being a wanted parolee at large.”
The vehicle that the trio were riding in was stolen on September 26 from Hilltop Drive.
