SAN MATEO – Officers on patrol in the area of Los Padros Park conducted a welfare check of a man in a vehicle around 7:45am on Thursday October 3rd. Upon contact with the male driver, officers discovered that he had a warrant out for his arrest, and the man was taken into custody.
The officers had reason to believe that the man had narcotics hidden in the vehicle, and a K-9 was brought in to perform a search. The search turned up 23 pounds of methamphetamine, worth over $160,000 hidden in the trunk of the car.
The driver, 26-year-old Vladimir Magallan-Gallegos was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail.
He faces charges for the sale of a dangerous drug, transportation of a dangerous drug and a traffic warrant from San Mateo County.
