ALAMEDA COUNTY — Cannabis businesses are becoming frequent burglary targets. Burglars have hit vendors in Berkeley, San Leandro and most recently Emeryville, where three suspects were arrested.
On October 22 at 3:35 a.m., a burglar alarm went off at 6613 Hollis Street in Emeryville. A cannabis products manufacturer Sunderstorm Bay and Golden Gate Cannabis Delivery Service are both located there.
The first responding officer saw several vehicles fleeing from the area. As backups arrived, officers stopped two vehicles and detained three individuals, and determined that forced entry was made.
Emeryville PD arrested two Oakland residents at 3:41 a.m., 20-year-old Rayondre Adanadus and Laveltray Powell, 19. A juvenile accompanying both men was also taken into custody. Additional suspects were not immediately located.
Adanadus and Powell were booked into Santa Rita Jail and are looking at second- degree burglary charges. The minor was booked into Alameda County Juvenile Hall.
Earlier this month in San Leandro, four suspects were arrested, following the burglary of a Blum cannabis store. When those suspects were arrested, police confiscated numerous weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition. (https://www.crimevoice.com/2019/10/03/cannabis-store-burglary/)
