AUBURN — Police have announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a vehicle assault that killed one person and injured two others earlier this month.
At around 1:40 AM on an unspecified date, police responded to the 100 block of Cleveland Avenue to investigate reports that someone had intentionally struck and injured two people with his vehicle and, while fleeing the scene, struck a third person who later died from their injuries.
Of the two who were injured, one suffered minor injuries and the other had to be hospitalized, though their injuries were later deemed non-life threatening as well.
Multiple agencies began joining the investigation, with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, Placer County District Attorney’s Office, and Placer County Special Investigations Unit, as well as other regional law enforcement partners all joining forces to locate the suspect.
Their efforts paid off when the suspect — identified as 26-year-old Skylar Perry — and his vehicle were located at a Foresthill residence just before 11 PM on Wednesday, October 16.
Perry was arrested and booked at the Placer County jail on suspicion of murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
