According to Mountain View Police, “On Friday, Oct. 11, we received a report about a woman from Nevada who had stayed at the Super 8 Motel, located on the 1000 block of W. El Camino Real.”
The woman told police that on October 7, 2019 the 23-year-old suspect Roberto Carlo Gomes-Galan pushed his way into a room where the female victim had propped open the door to let fresh air in. She told police that a man came to her door and began to talk to her around 3:30 am. After several moments the woman asked the man to leave. However, he then stepped inside the room and began to sexually assault the woman.
The female victim, working with police from Nevada where she had flown back home, sought medical attention and had a rape kit done in which she was able to provide the suspect’s DNA. The female victim was also able to describe to police the male suspect who had attacked her. In working with police, the victim was able to identify Gomes-Galan as the male suspect who had sexually assaulted her.
