EL DORADO – Workers at a job site in a rural location noticed at the end of September that several thousand dollars of their tools had been stolen from the job site.
Then, the workers spotted a truck nearby and recognized their tools in the back of it. However the truck pulled away, so the workers took pictures of it and it’s driver as best they could.
Detectives with the El Dorado Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as Jason Daigle. The suspect was in possession of chain saws taken in another theft in Camino.
The victim from that case had serial numbers of his tools and reported the same when he filed the theft report.
Daigle was arrested and “faces several felony charges.”
The EDSO notes, “Everyone involved in this did exactly what we ask for in theft cases. If you see a crime, be a good witness. Take photos or videos if safe to do so, but do not put yourself in harms way to stop it. If you have expensive tools or items that you would just hate to lose, mark them and save their serial numbers. These two tips help us solve crime faster and get stolen items returned.”
