VISALIA – A call to dispatch reporting a man with a gun sent Visalia Police Officers to the area near the intersection of Caldwell and West on the evening of October 24th.
The responding officers located a dark colored Chrysler near Giddings and Whitendale and initiated a traffic stop. The occupants of the Chrysler, 22-year old Angel Pando and 20-year old Iris Lopez-Martinez, were detained while officers searched the car.
In the car, officers found items indicative of drug sales: a police scanner, 2 pounds of marijuana, .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol, and $8,000 in U.S. cash.
Pando was arrested for narcotics and possession of a loaded firearm while Lopez-Martinez was arrested for narcotics.
The pair were booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility.
