The Grass Valley Police Department made the following announcement detailing their support of the Pink Patch Program –
“Happy November! We are continuing with our local business “Why I Support the (pink) Patch” initiative for a while longer.
The organizers of the pink patch program for the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada City Police Department, Truckee Police Department, and GVPD have been working with Nevada Union High School seniors in their wood shop to create unique handcrafted shadow boxes for special business sponsorship opportunities. The box and accompanying 4-patch set is available and we will talk to you about “Why You Support the (pink) Patch” and post your message on our social feeds. Due to fall break and PSPS’s the two seniors doing this amazing work have been a little delayed.
Our first business supporting the patch is That’s Byers (Byers Leafguard Gutter systems). Here is a message from Ray Byers Jr.
The pink patch program is a great way to help keep the community aware of the importance of breast cancer research and making sure we keep tabs of our health. Breast cancer awareness is near and dear to my heart as two women in my life who have taught me a great deal had both been diagnosed with this disease early enough to have a beautiful life. Early detection is paramount to survivability. Byers supports the efforts of our local law enforcement agencies who are bringing awareness to this disease and building community health and vibrancy as a result!
Thank you Byers for your support and contribution to the great work of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation
If you are a business interested in supporting the patch (or pink patch) please reach out to any of the participating Nevada County LE agencies on our Facebook pages.”
