The Vacaville Police Department issued the following statement regarding a recent gun bust.
“While on patrol, an officer spotted a vehicle with mechanical and vehicle code violations. A traffic stop was conducted on the freeway near WB I-80 at the Alamo/Merchant St off ramp. During the course of the investigation, she followed officers commands which eventually led to a firearm being located in the waistband of the driver – Alexis Atkinson (30) out of Fairfield.
The firearm was determined to be unregistered and fully loaded. Ms. Atkinson was transported to the Solano County Jail where she was booked for various felony firearm charges.
Although this was another very stressful vehicle stop, this is a great example of how compliance and cooperation from individuals help lead to a safe resolution.”
