The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office has announced their annual “Shop with a Cop” event.
“Shop with a Cop provides a fun-filled day for a number of children in need throughout San Mateo County while creating positive relationships with law enforcement.
The participating children are identified by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureaus, Sheriff’s Activities League, and local services agencies. Each patrol bureau will be raising funds to sponsor youth from their patrol areas.
On the day of the event, uniformed deputies are partnered with the youth over breakfast. The deputies and the youth participate in a law enforcement procession and head to a store for shopping with their “Partner for the Day”.
Each youth will be given $150 to go on a shopping spree. After they will be able to participate in holiday activities and get a picture with Santa.
Anyone that sponsors more than 6 children will be invited to come to the event and shop with a child and his partner deputy.
