ANTIOCH — Police are seeking Ruby Delgadillo who literally had a very bad hair day. She apparently disliked her son’s haircut and in a fit of rage apparently decided to run over the barber.
Her hirsute dispute turned violent on December 4 at Eastwood Plaza Shopping Center. It began with the irate customer and barber exchanging heated words at Delta Barber Shop, located at 1631 A Street.
Police began receiving several calls at 3:45 p.m. Responding officers quickly located the victim, a 63-year-old barber. He was suffering from serious cuts and injuries, requiring immediate medical treatment.
The victim and witnesses told officers that the woman got into her car and drove it straight at him. The impact smashed and shoved the barber through the glass storefront windows.
“It was an intentional act,” said Antioch police in a prepared statement. “The responsible party fled from the scene with her son and has not been located. She is positively identified as 28-year-old Ruby Delgadillo of Brentwood.”
Delgadillo remains at large. She was last seen driving a blue 2006 Toyota Prius with California license plate number 8LHB387.
Anyone with information about Delgadillo’s whereabouts can call Antioch police at 925-778-2441. Information can also be texted to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword Antioch.
