Window smasher doesn’t speak to witnesses, officers

As reported by the City of East Palo Alto’s Police Department:

“Officers responded to an apartment building on the 1900 block of Manhattan Avenue after a caller reported a man smashing car windshields.

Arriving officers contacted a witness who directed them to 39-year-old East Palo Alto resident Miguel Barraza-Navarro.

The officers detained Mr. Barraza-Navarro and continued their investigation. Witnesses reported seeing Mr. Barraza-Navarro smashing the windshields of three vehicles with a fire extinguisher.

One witness attempted to contact Mr. Barraza-Navarro and he threw the fire extinguisher over a fence without saying a word.

The officers attempted to obtain a statement from Mr. Barraza-Navarro, however he did not speak at any time while in police custody. Mr. Barraza-Navarro was transported to the San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City where he was booked.”
