Late on the night of December 23rd, 41-year old Joanne Otero, was murdered.
Madera police officers found her injured in the area of 4th and G Street.
She had been assaulted and later succumbed to her injuries. Several businesses in the area made their surveillance footage available to detectives, Which identified 49-year old Carlos Urias as the murder suspect.
On December 27th, Urias was arrested after being spotted walking near Yosemite and B Street. He was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections where he remains as of today, facing a murder charge, ineligible for bail.
