TURLOCK – Early on the morning of December 15th a shooting occurred behind a business in the 400 block of E. Main Street.
The 1:50 am incident involved a female victim and a male suspect. Responding officers encountered both individuals upon arriving at the scene.
29-year-old Patterson resident Steven Sawyer was attempted to drive away from the area but did was ultimately detained via a vehicle stop made by officers.
The continuing investigation determined that a robbery had occurred, during which the female was shot.
The Turlock Police Department concludes, “Steven Sawyer was booked into the Stanislaus County jail for robbery, possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, and possession of a stolen firearm.”
The woman was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
