Sex registrant arrested attempting to lure juveniles into his van

The Redwood City Police Department issued this official Press Release about a recent motorcycle pursuit –
A sexual registrant was arrested in Redwood City after apparently attempting to lure two juveniles into his silver van –
“On 12/31/19 at about 1pm officers responded to the report of a man who tried to lure two juveniles (12 and 14 years old) into his van.
The suspect fled when one of the juveniles’ mother arrived. Officers located the vehicle in a nearby condo complex and the suspect was located in one of the condos.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Based on a previous conviction, the suspect is required to register as a sex offender, but an investigation by officers on scene determined he had failed to do so.
A search warrant was authored and evidence was collected from the suspect vehicle and residence. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail and the investigation is ongoing.
The suspect was driving a 2012 silver Toyota Sienna with tinted windows and a curtain dividing the front seats from the rear cargo area. The suspect was a clean shaven, 60 year old white male, 6’4” tall and weighing about 280 lbs.
