Two recent incidents occurred in Salinas County involving the confiscation of firearms.
The first, on January 4, happened in Prunedale when a deputy noticed a Mitsubishi SUV that had been reported as stolen out of San Jose.
Adam Ramos and Tracey Rodriguez were detained. Deputies found a loaded .45, ammunition, cocaine, meth and hallucinogens.
The pair were booked for vehicle theft, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of narcotics for sales, possession of a firearm with narcotics sales, and felon in possession of a concealed firearm.
Then, on January 7th in Salinas, an officer contacted a suspicious male – 34-year-old Miguel Ruiz.
Ruiz had a loaded firearm in his possession. Then officers located a second unloaded firearm and half an ounce of meth.
With a current probation and prior felony convictions, Ruiz was taken to Monterey County Jail on numerous weapons and narcotics violations.
