3 Men and 2 Boys from Riverside Arrested for Attempting to Rob Victims in LetGo Sale in Garden Grove
Five suspects have been arrested for conspiracy to commit robbery in Garden Grove after trying to rob and intimidate victims they contacted through a buy and sell secondhand app called “LetGo.”
The incident took place at about 7:10 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2020. The two victims, an adult male and a juvenile male from Garden Grove, desired to purchase a cell phone from the suspects and intended to meet them in a parking lot in the 13400 Block of Euclid Street to make the exchange. Instead, two of the suspects pulled out firearms and demanded money.
The victims fled inside a business located there, “and as they were running away one victim believed he heard two shots being fired,” according to the release. The suspects subsequently fled the scene.
Garden Grove police identified and located the suspect vehicle in the 1700 block of S Caroleen Lane in Anaheim. Anaheim police officers assisted as they pulled over the vehicle and then detained and arrested all five suspects. Officers found two replica airsoft guns inside the vehicle.
The suspects, a group consisting of 3 juvenile males and 2 adult males from Riverside, were found to have been involved in a robbery in Anaheim the day before. Due to an ongoing investigation, the suspects’ identities have not yet been disclosed.
